If you have sensitive skin like I do (Know your Skin Type for FREE HERE), you’d be aware that skin care products made for us cost more than the usual. The most popular brand for our skin type is Cetaphil and their sensitive skin lotion can go up to 700+ PHP a bottle.
As a consumer, I’m still in a quest for the perfect lotion for my sensitive skin.
I want something that’s reasonably priced, very effective, friendly to my skin type, and easily accessible.
Medicated products for some reason cost more but I’m really glad I found a cheaper alternative.
Sensitive Skin Lotion
I got the AVON Care Gentle Moisture Body Lotion from Yolly, the lady who does home service for my nails.
She also happens to be an Avon Lady; suffice to say, she’s a mall!
Whilst I was undergoing foot spa, she already had her AVON Products for sale displayed on the sofa.
Her bestsellers are bras but she knows not to offer me those because I have boobies that simply won’t fit the everyday girl’s bra.
AVON should seriously consider coming up with a p-orn star or adult entertainer lingerie line because their sizing discriminates.

To be honest, the lotion was my last purchase out of all the products I bought from Yolly because the packaging is so unattractive.
It comes in a boring white bottle and navy-blue cap that looks like a love-child of Dove Shampoo and Head and Shoulders (ugly meets fugly).
As someone who likes reading labels, I gave in when I saw the word “Gentle”.
The AVON Care Gentle Moisture Body Lotion has Oat Extracts and a 24-Hour Vita E Complex.
It not only claims to be a sensitive skin lotion but it’s also good for all skin types.
Written on the packaging is…
“This lightweight lotion is formulated with soothing oatmeal extract. Suitable for the whole family, including those with sensitive skin. Hypoallergenic. Dermatologically tested.”
Write “Hypoallergenic” on anything and you get an automatic sale from me.
Water, Glycerin, Isopropyl Palmitate, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, Peg-100 Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Petrolatum, Cetyl Alcohol, Fragrance, Carbomer, Dimethicone, Disodium EDTA, Potassium Hydroxide, Caprylyl Glycol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Polyglyceryl-3 Caprylate, Colloidal Oatmeal, Thiodipropionic Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate, Cereus Grandiflorus (Cactus) Flower Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract
I am so glad that reading glasses were made but still, re-writing those ingredients from the little font on the packaging was an arduous task.
Aside from the fact that the AVON Care Gentle Moisture Body Lotion is hypoallergenic, the other selling point for me were the oat extracts.
We all know that there are bountiful benefits of oats for the skin.
Oats are amazing antioxidants and they can get rid of inflammation and itching. Apart from their beautifying attributes, they also have curative properties which can repair skin damage caused by UVAs and UVBs and can even calm eczema.
Compared to the St. Ives Daily Hydrating Vitamin E & Avocado Lotion (Read my review HERE), this sensitive skin lotion is miles better. That one is cheaper though because it’s only 200+ PHP for 600+ ml.
The AVON Care Gentle Moisture Body Lotion truly hydrated my skin (I have Granny dry skin as well) and it’s true to its word about being gentle.
It also pacified itching which I experience most of the time especially after shaving.
I literally only have to use it once after I take a shower and don’t have to reapply it anymore (it’s that good!).
The moisture it gives is not astounding but is fair for its price point.
If you hate heavy and sticky lotions like I do (I know I must use cream-based stuff but living in a humid country gives me an excuse to avoid them), you’ll like this one. Its consistency is not too watery nor creamy, just right and very easy to spread all over the body.
Only factors I don’t like about it are the smell and the packaging.
AVON Care Gentle Moisture Body Lotion smells similar to Skin White or any cheap shampoo. It doesn’t have that expensive spa scent. (Earth to Amanda! It’s only 199 PHP for 250ml, stop reaching for the stars!)
- Calms itching (Give this to that THOT who has the hots for your BF)
- Friendly to sensitive skin
- Gives adequate moisture
- Very affordable
- Not easily accessible (You need to find an AVON Lady)
- Ugly packaging
- Unappealing scent (It’s not mabaho, I’m just not a fan)
So far, this sensitive skin lotion is a BUY for me.
Seriously, where else can you find anything cheaper and of this good quality?
Avon has a really good Topical Glutathione line. Read more about it HERE.
