Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss Review 2018

I’m a woman in my late 20’s and think that lip gloss died right after high school graduation. Somehow, the Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss draws me back to the best days of my life.

Ladies, let’s talk about lip gloss.

I’m a busy Modern Pinay and who really has the time to top off lipstick with lip gloss?

The ever-punishing Manila traffic is a working gal’s sworn enemy and there’s simply no chance to polish a makeup look anymore.

When I was an office girl, makeup touch-ups on the way to work were impossible. I often had to drive to go to work and simply couldn’t apply lip gloss. When I wasn’t driving, I was sleeping (I value time).

Whenever I arrived at the office, I immediately drowned myself in coffee.

Lip gloss simply wasn’t part of the agenda.

I love how a lip gloss gives my look an extra boost but I don’t have the patience to keep retouching right after I finish taking a bite or sip.

Less complaining and more talking about a lip gloss that I really like when I’m feeling extra fancy.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss Vernis a Levres

If you’ve been reading Filipinow.com, I’m pretty sure that you’re already bored with my affinity of Estee Lauder.

The reason why I love Estee Lauder is because of their branding, products, and packaging (part of the branding, redundant much Amanda?).

Today, I’ll be featuring two shades from the line.

Why only two Amanda?

Bishh, first of all, I’m broke. Second, I’m not sponsored. Third, sit your ass down and keep reading.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss in Simply Pink

The Simply Pink shade leans more towards a nude color than pink.

It’s very opaque and can be used as a standalone lip product.

If you’re concerned about “undertones”, this one is very forgiving.

Morenas, Mestizas, and Chinitas can all share the versatile shade.

Now let’s talk about the winning factor which makes me purchase Estee Lauder products, the Packaging!

I love that the product is contained in a glass tube with a gold cap as it should be for the unfriendly price point of 2,000 PHP+.

The doe-foot wand is also vital when it comes to lip products (Take notes BYS Velvet Lips).

Doe-foot wand makes any lip product application easier and it should be mandatory to all glosses and lipsticks.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss in Wild Lilac

The Wild Lilac shade is what I prefer.

It has a holographic sheen and though the pink color payout is not enough, I like how it blends on top of my lipsticks.

It’s something that’s forgiving to all skin tones as well.

The packaging is the same with the Simply Pink shade.

Ingredients

Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, FD&C Blue 1 Lake, Carmine, D&C Orange 5, Poly(ethylene Terephthalate), Titanium Dioxide, Lecithin, D&C Red 30 Lake, Bismuth Oxychloride, Tin Oxide, D&C Red 28 Lake, Polydecene, Acrylates Copolymer, Butylated Hydroxytoluene, Simethicone, Vitamin C, D&C Red 6, Microcrystalline Wax, Polybutene, FD&C Yellow 6 Lake, Petrolatum, D&C Red 33 Lake, Copper, D&C Red 22 Lake, Bronze Powder (CI 77400), FD&C Yellow 5 Lake Ethylhexylglycerin, D&C Red 7 Lake, Mica, Synthetic Fluorophlogopite, Fragrance, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Vitamin E, Iron Oxide, Manganese Violet, Silica

The ingredients listed above are for the Simply Pink Shade. I’m pretty sure that they are the same with the Wild Lilac one with miniscule differences in colors used.

I don’t have the energy to type a separate list for the Wild Lilac shade anymore so thank you for understanding.

Let’s continue with how the Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss worked for me.

My Experience

The Pure Color Gloss line has good longevity.

I’m making this blog post after finishing a cup of coffee with no straw whilst my lip gloss is still in-tact.

The scent of the products is sugary, which I love.

I have a pet peeve in makeups that smell toxic; I mean who doesn’t?

If you’re not a fat ho like I am, this product can last up to 6 hours without drinking or eating.

There’s a tacky feeling when wearing this lip gloss but I prefer that rather than having chapped lips.

No man wants to kiss crusty lips. Have some decency you dry-lipped bish.

I think that the Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss can last up to 3 months if used daily, a week if you apply every hour (obsessed?!).

Verdict

If you need a lip gloss that’ll make you feel luxurious and give you confidence on dates, buy away!

I think that there are cheaper products that can do the same job.

I guess Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss helps if you’re like me who’s mentally deranged and love a good packaging.

The “pretensyosa” price point wasn’t justified and this is a complete waste of sugar daddy money.

It’s cute to be displayed on your dresser though…

Nothing groundbreaking to see here, let’s move on.
