Nenuco and Denenes are two popular baby colognes imported to the Philippines. What if I tell you that there’s a Nenuco and Denenes dupe that’s locally made for half the price of both?
Nenuco and Denenes are both citrusy-fresh smelling and very affordable. They come from Italy and Spain respectively and though both are already inexpensive, a Modern Pinay is ever-seeking for the best bang for her buck.
Nothing can beat local price because of the ruled-out import tax.
When I was in elementary school, Nenuco was very popular. It’s very dominant in grocery aisles together with the Angel’s Breath baby powder. If you were born on 1990 or anytime close to that year, I’m positively sure that you know what I’m talking about.
Without further ado, let’s start with the review of my discovery from Watsons, SM City East Ortigas.
BodyXpert Aqua de Colognia AKA Nenuco and Denenes Dupe
This Aqua de Colognia from BodyXpert is from a company called LifeStrong Marketing Inc. which is from Caloocan, City.
I am not sure why it’s named and has a tagline in Spanish but I could care less because I’m more concerned about the scent.
Enough rambling and get back to the topic Amanda. Stop your obsession with packaging.
The voice in my head is telling me quit but whatever, I’m still going to talk about the packaging.
There are 2 sizes available in Watsons, SM City East Ortigas, the 200ml and 600ml.
I was hypnotized when I saw that the 600ml one only costs 299 PHP.
I sauntered towards the aisle and took a whiff from the smaller bottle.
The scent was heavenly! I felt like I was being surrounded by cute baby angels with baskets of lemon in tow.
I told myself that I had to have the big one but my good side ordered me to get the 200ml instead because I need to know its longevity.
Good will always win over evil so I happily took home the 200ml BodyXpert Aqua de Colognia for only 120 PHP home with me.
Available in Lazada BUY HERE
I love how the packaging gives a “baby” vibe. The product is in a plastic container with a twistable teal cap. The colors exude a fresh aura which I’m drawn to.
The scent is closer to Nenuco than Denenes.
It has a more “ascorbic acid” smell to it rather than having a plain cologne scent like Denenes (if that makes any sense).
The first whiff is reminiscent of Ascorbic Acid, Halls Candy or Strepsils but that smell quickly tones down to a very fresh lemon scent.
This Nenuco and Denenes dupe has a 2-hour staying power (on body) and 3-hour staying power (on clothes) which is very good for a baby cologne.
Nenuco and Denenes can cost up to 700 PHP per 600ml but the BodyXpert Aqua de Colognia only costs 299 PHP for 600ml which costs 50% +++ less than the popular two.
They could’ve put a spritzer on the smaller bottle but you can always buy travel-sized spray bottles for very cheap.
I am currently using a Kojic Acid soap by Belo (Read more about it HERE) which makes my skin more sensitive so I experienced stinging when I spray it close to my neck.
What I do to reduce the stinging is I spray from a distance (a foot) and it works well for me.
The Nenuco and Denenes dupe also lingers on clothes and hair with adequate sillage (not as powerful as EDP though).

- Very inexpensive
- Easily available
- Cute packaging

- Enough longevity for a cologne
- Stings with sensitive skin
If you like fruity scents but you are not a fan of lemon, I also recommend something from one of my favorite local perfumeries.
Zen Zest Sniff and Cuddle Baby Cologne in Doll
(IMG Source: HERE)
Nothing beats Anime in terms of cuteness plus purple is my favorite color.
If you’ve tried Zen Zest perfumes, you know that their EDPs really have good longevity.
This is actually the first time that I’ve bought a cologne from them and I am not disappointed.
The Zen Zest Sniff and Cuddle Baby Cologne in Doll is not a Nenuco and Denenes dupe but it’s a welcome variant if you like baby colognes.
It is only 40+ PHP for a 70ml bottle and they claim that it’s Dermatologist-Tested.
Their claim is genuine because even if I apply this cologne directly on my neck, I don’t experience any stinging.
The Doll variant smells like grapes on the first whiff but turns into a powdery and fruity scent in no time.
It reminds me of Victoria’s Secret Love Spell and Vanilla Lace rolled into one… super girly!
This also beats the BodyXpert Aqua de Colognia in terms of longevity because it can literally last up to 5 hours on both body and clothes.
The sillage is also stronger on the Zen Zest Baby Cologne than the Nenuco and Denenes dupe but I’m torn because I have an addiction with lemon scents.
For a baby cologne, the Doll variant is already as good as an EDT.
I hope Zen Zest can come up with a fresh lemon scent too.
Ingredients: Water, SD Alcohol, Fragrance, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Hydrolyzed Oat Protein
- Performs like an EDT
- Only available in Zen Zest
Both colognes are very good.
If you’re looking for a fresh baby scent, go with the Nenuco and Denenes dupe which is the BodyXpert Aqua de Colognia.
If you like powdery baby colognes with great longevity, go with the Zen Zest Sniff and Cuddle Baby Cologne in Doll.
PS: This is not a sponsored post. Both products were discovered by me in Zen Zest and Watsons, SM City East Ortigas. Nobody paid me to do this review, I’m just a Modern Pinay who doesn’t like to smell “bantutay”.
If you liked this Nenuco and Denenes dupe article, kindly share it to your friends.
I’d also love to know what you think of my recommendation so feel free to comment and tell me your feedback regarding these colognes.
Remember to always stay fresh and don’t be Bantutay.
