Miss Chet Arenas Torres of Clivia Pure Organics was kind enough to send me their products to try. Clivia Pure Organics did not pay me to do a review and be assured that everything you’ll read here is my honest take.
Let’s be clear here, Organic doesn’t equate Hypoallergenic. There are 2 items I don’t like from their line because they don’t mesh well with my sensitive skin type (Know your Skin Type for FREE).
Ms. Chet sent me 7 items from Clivia Pure Organics; Fadeout Serum, Facial Toner, Facial Mist, Ageless Cream, Papaya Ointment, Tawas Spray, and Aromatherapy Oil.
They also have a Hair Grower, Sunblock, and Air Freshener.
I’ve tried all products for 6 consecutive days with the exception of the Facial Toner and Facial Mist.
Let’s start with the 2 products that are my least favorite and I quit after 2 days of use.
Lavender is one of my favorite scents and it is the star ingredient of Clivia Pure Organics Facial Toner.
The reason why I don’t like it is although Lavender can benefit the skin, it’s more known for its irritant properties especially to sensitive skin.
The thing I don’t like about the toner is it doesn’t pick up enough dirt and blackheads.
My skin also felt too tight after use with redness on some areas.
I love the scent but for a toner, I need something milder that can clean and unclog my pores without irritating my skin.
Written on the pamphlet about the Clivia Pure Organics Facial Toner is
“For a thorough, massive cleansing that removes dirt after washing the face. Contains Glycerin which is skin friendly and suitable for all skin types. The essential oils of LAVENDER prevent and treat acne. Can be applied before using Fade Out Serum.”
What made me quit it is some of my spots were aggravated. I felt them growing back.
Quitting the product was a good hunch because the pain pacified when I stopped using the toner.
Price: 100 PHP for 50ml
Score: 2 out of 5 (I added one point because I like lavender)
Let’s continue with the product that I only used for 2 days as well.
“Rose Oil helps to tone and lift the skin. It improves the radiance of your skin and keeps it hydrated. Applied before and after putting on makeup for the glossy and fresh look all day long. It also moisturizes dry and flaky skin.”
I think that when it comes to moisturization, my skin type can definitely determine if a product provides enough or doesn’t.
My worst problem area is on the sides of my nose which flake easily and the Clivia Pure Organics didn’t treat it.
It’s too fragrant and reminiscent of a perfume that I don’t like which is Fendi L’acquarossa.
For a face product, it has astounding sillage like of an EDP and will surely irritate my dry and sensitive skin with prolonged use.
I am not saying that the 2 products listed above are crappy, they’re just too strong for my skin type.
Feel free to try them if you don’t have skin like mine.

Now that I’ve established what I don’t like, let’s go to the more exciting part of this Clivia Pure Organics Review, the So-So.
Fade Out Serum
“Made from the purest Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and Turmeric Powder, it removes age spots (PEKAS), acne scars, and other skin blemishes. VCO helps prevent premature aging. Apply to face after washing, best used overnight. Keeps your skin moisturized and glowing. Shake well before use.”
We all know that coconut oil is very good in erasing scars and can even lighten stretch marks so this serum already wins in that alone.
Virgin Coconut Oil is also more expensive than other oils and they made it as their serum’s base which shows that they are not trying to rip us off.
Turmeric is known to diminish scarring so putting the two together is quite powerful.
The thing I don’t like about it is that the turmeric often deposits on the bottom of the bottle which will indeed force u to shake it well (vigorously in my case) as instructed.
It also felt a little abrasive and for someone with dry skin, I can’t exfoliate daily.
I also didn’t like the yellow tint it gives to my skin because of the turmeric so it’s really only best used before sleeping.
It does give GREAT amount of moisture that can acquaint your skin while you slumber but be mindful that it can get a little sticky. If you’re not into the sticky feeling, this may not be for you.
I don’t mind how it adheres because I have dry skin, I just don’t like that the VCO is quite warm and doesn’t feel soothing before bedtime.
For only 6 days of use, it’s a VERY good moisturizer but for fading scars, that’s yet to be discovered.

Before you think that I’m an ungrateful BITHC (I purposely misspelled it), I have 4 products that I really like from Clivia Pure Organics which you’ll find out if you keep reading.
For someone who likes getting massages, Clivia Pure Organics Aromatherapy oil is the BOMB.
“Contains only the purest aromatic and essential oils. Improves physical and psychological well-being. Apply to the body for massage.”
Their Aromatherapy Oil is made of lavender and peppermint but you’ll get more whiff of the mint’s freshness rather than the flower.
Initially applied, it feels a bit warm but it turns to a very soothing and cooling oil that can truly relax one’s body.
The scent lingers (I used it on my Homemade Liquid Foundation Tutorial and the scent lasted for hours. Read more about it HERE) and will make you feel like you’ve just gone through an expensive SPA treatment (their products are literally used in SPAS).
It doesn’t have a burning feeling like you’d get from drugstore oils like Efficascent Oil or anything that has Camphor.
It’s an A+ product and I highly recommend it.

If you’re a Lucas Papaw fan, I’m pretty sure that you will like this.
It’s a welcome and more affordable alternative to healing ointments available in the Philippines.
“An organic ointment that contains extracts of Carica Papaya (PAPAYA) that heals minor wounds, cuts, and burns. Also ideal for insect bites, allergies and other skin diseases. Treats chapped, dry skin.”
Apart from being an amazing lip balm (lasts up to 6 hours), it truly can alleviate insect bites and cuts.
I’m a living witness of the Clivia Pure Organics Papaya Ointment’s efficacy because I got bit by ants from my bed (I really should stop eating snacks on my bed).
The ointment instantly calmed the pain from the bites and I find it very effective in spots on my legs that randomly itch after shaving as well.
It also showed its efficacy from a mistake during Zumba (I scratched the back of my foot against the bed frame). I was pretty sure that the scratch would turn into a blister because of the excruciating pain but this ointment didn’t let it go to that level.
The Papaya Ointment seems like its base is Vaseline but I’m not entirely sure.
All I know is that it’s very effective and true to its claim.
The Clivia Pure Organics Papaya Ointment can be a permanent lip balm for someone with chapped lips like I do.

Score: 4 out of 5 (Still not sure if its base is petroleum jelly or not)
If you’ve been reading my Blog, you’ll know that I’m still undergoing my underarm whitening journey (Read more about it HERE).
I’m only using Tawas based products or Milcu Deodorant Powder because I need something that’s mild.
Tawas really works well for me because I don’t have strong body odor hence I don’t need a medicated drugstore deodorant.
The thing I don’t like about the usual Tawas available in the market is it’s abrasive (either stone-based or has a sandy texture).
We all know that abrasion can worsen the darkening of armpits and this Tawas Spray is already in liquid form which leads you to only spritz on your underarms.
“The anti-perspirant that is Alcohol-Free and doubles as a whitening deodorant with extracts of Calamansi. Spray onto underarms after taking a bath.”
I only spray the Clivia Pure Organics Tawas Spray 5 times on each armpit and my armpits don’t smell bad the whole day even after working out.
Infused with Calamansi, Clivia Pure Organics Tawas Spray is also great in aiding your underarm whitening journey.

We all know that early wrinkles are inevitable to someone with dry skin.
I don’t have visible fine lines and wrinkles yet as I’m only 28 years old but you’ll know that my bags are a bit pronounced if you’ve been following Filipinow.Com.
I kid you not when I say that I’ve already seen changes on my bags in just less than a week!
6 days use of the Clivia Pure Organics Ageless Cream. You’ll definitely notice less puffiness. The yellow hue is from the turmeric serum.
“An effective moisturizer and skin anti-oxidant that brings radiance and promotes a healthy youthful skin by reducing wrinkles and lines caused by sun damage and aging. Apply after the Facial Toner, good as a makeup base”
It reminds me of the Advanced Night Repair samples I get from Estee Lauder.
When I apply it under my eyes, my bags instantly feel calmer and more relaxed.
Call me crazy but it almost instantaneously forces me to sleep which is a good thing.
The Clivia Pure Organics Ageless Cream has a liquid-lotion consistency unlike the Advanced Night Repair by Estee Lauder which is more oil based.
I only apply it under my eyes and on my laugh lines because those are the areas that are starting to manifest my aging.
Price: 220 PHP for 20g
Score: 6 out of 5
Now that you and Clivia Pure Organics have been acquainted, I hope that you can try their products out for yourself.
Packaging: 4 out of 5
Efficacy: 4 out of 5
Price: 5 out of 5
Availability: 3 out of 5 (Products are homemade and organic so Clivia Pure Organics has more exclusivity. It’s not available in all malls but you can easily order online.)
I really like trying out local products because they’re the reason why Filipinow.Com was created.
I want to feature products Made in the Philippines that have “Non-Pretensyosa” price points for the everyday Modern Pinay.
PS: Thank you very much to Miss Chet Arenas Torres for giving me the opportunity in trying out their amazing products.
