Mena Oatmeal Papaya Soap Review

If you grew up in the Philippines, I’m pretty sure that you’re also familiar with the brand Mena. I’ve always thought about it as one of those popular pahid-pahid products like Chin Chun Su. Before I ramble too much, let’s get to the Mena Oatmeal Papaya Soap Review.

My beach trip is on May and I found this by accident while I was perusing the soap aisle and thought to myself…

Why not?

Most of my readers love skin whitening soap reviews. Furthermore, they are also looking for instant gratification.

However, if you’re one of the latter, please don’t expect much from this product.

First Impression

Surprisingly, the packaging is very impressive. However, the scary Mena woman with its haunting eyes is still present.

Everything you have to know is listed on the back along with the Mena woman’s face… yet again.

Mena Cream Face

Please Aling Mena, tantanan mo na ako. Wala akong utang sayo!

I have nothing bad to say about the packaging except for that face.

Claims

Cleanse your skin the natural way!

Introducing Mena Oatmeal Papaya Soap with Milk and Aloe Vera, the pure organic herbal papaya soap that is enhanced with OATMEAL and Aloe Vera.

Our exfoliating soap with OATMEAL is specially formulated to scrub away dirt and dead skin cells to reveal clearer, younger looking skin.

My Experience

In all fairness to Mena, marami na siyang napaganda.

Soap is not flimsy and won’t leave a gooey mess on your soap dish.

Not as hard as Likas Papaya or Safeguard and not as soft as Caress or Dove soaps.

The white bar has golden specs (oats) which give it a very interesting look.

Scent is milky and pleasant.

Lather is generous and is truly enjoyable to use in the shower.

No irritation was felt and it won’t make your skin feel squeaky clean. It has a very balanced pH level.

However, since the main ingredient into skin whitening is Papaya, don’t expect it to manifest skin whitening effects within just a month of use.

If you’re looking for exfoliation, just use a scrub or a loofah as you won’t be satisfied with this one.

Final Words

Based on the ingredients and from my experience, I highly recommend this to be used by people with very sensitive skin who still want to give skin whitening a go.

It’s one of the most skin-friendliest soaps that I’ve ever tried.

However, if you want whiter skin within just a month, you can try kojic acid soaps instead.

I have a full Skin Whitening Philippines guide if you’re so inclined. You can also read my Paano Pumuti Filipino guide if you’re more comfortable with that language.

Retails at only 43 PHP for 150g, a super steal!
