St. Ives Lotion Review: Daily Hydrating Vitamin E & Avocado
March 9, 2018
Loyalty is a very noble trait that a person could have but when it comes to skin care, it should be trivial. I’ve been using St. Ives products for a very long time because of their “skin car-ish” packaging and price point (feel free to call me gullible). Let’s test your loyalty with this St. Ives Lotion Review.
What I like about St. Ives is that they don’t test on animals and their products are usually for all skin types. I beg to disagree about the “for all skin types” claim as I’ve tried numerous variants of their scrubs including the Green Tea and Apricot ones and all of them caused me breakouts!
P.S. Somebody laundered my white fur flat lay background so learn to deal with the brown one.
I got this lotion while buying stuff for the Chinese New Year (pampa-swerte galore) and it turned out to be contradictory to the rest of my haul. It served as an unlucky charm for my skin and I’m going to deliver it to the dumpsite myself right after writing this blog post (Malas! Layas! Panget!).
The St. Ives Daily Hydrating Vitamin E & Avocado Body Lotion states that it will defend and protect your skin from dryness. Its creamy and non-greasy formula which contains Avocado and Vitamin E provides instant moisturization which will soften dry skin.

Their philosophy is dedicated to bring you the best of nature with formulas that delight the senses leaving your skin radiant, soft and fresh.
It contains a lot of moisturizing ingredients but it also contains Dimethicone and Alcohol which I both hate. Read more about Dimethicone HERE.
The product does have the 2 featured main ingredients which are Vitamin E and Avocado; both very good in moisturizing although we will never know the potency of the important ingredients in every product that we are using.

I like the company’s vision but results are what I’m looking for when it comes to skin care products. Let’s continue this St. Ives Lotion Review with my personal experience.
Massage gently into clean and dry skin.
Continue using for skin moisture improvement.
Pretty easy to follow. Take my money!
What I like about this product is the scent. It smells like the oils used in massage parlors. The word I can best describe its scent is oriental.
The product is also true to its word about giving instant moisture and it’s very easy to apply to the skin (not like the Nivea Crème 1-day old manure-like consistency). Read more about Nivea Creme HERE.
I don’t particularly feel itchy on the first 3 hours of this product clinging onto my skin but as the day goes by, I start to get sensations that are usually experienced by side-chicks and boyfriend-stealers. The itchiness starts to settle in after some time that there’s no other way to deal with it but by scratching! (I’m not a nympho).
I’m not sure what causes the itching but I think the possible culprits are the alcohol, fragrance, and dimethicone.
The price is only 250+ PHP and the product contains 621ml which can last you for about a month and a half (1 week if your skin’s as dry as a boulder).
Goodness me, I was a little mean on this St. Ives Lotion Review but after years of spending my sugar baby allowance on their company, I’ve finally had it!
It’s like being loyal to your boyfriend but he keeps on treating you like a dartboard.
Enough is enough!
