Why pay more for something ineffective just because it’s “imported”. Fruits and flowers in the Philippines are the main source of the world-renowned ingredients for skin care such as retinol, AHA, kojic acid, and etc. Even the most famous perfume in the world Chanel No. 5 that Marilyn Monroe popularized contains Y-lang Y-lang and Jasmine, which are flowers that are native to the Philippines. Today, I’m going to share with you how AYO Premium Whitening Soap has harnessed the skin whitening powers of our local produce. Please note that this review is introductory only. I have all 5 variants and I’ve only tried 2 of them on myself. The Papaya and Pineapple whitening soap variants are what I’ve used for 6 consecutive days. I asked help from my family and neighbors to try out the Tomato, Tamarind, and Radish whitening soap variants. AYO Premium Whitening Soap Tamarind Soap I asked Jana, a transgender woman friend in her 30s to try the AYO Tamarind Whitening Soap for me. She is Morena and often stays at home. The reason why I gave Jana the Tamarind variant is it provides AHA which is a great aid in exfoliating. The Hyaluronic Acid of tamarind helps prevent her skin from being dry. A Morena skin should always be moisturized to maintain its beautiful golden glow. A dull Morena skin can look ashy so it’s imperative to moisturize. Her Experience Jana really likes the soap because it makes her feel really clean after a shower. Her typical day includes a lot of house chores and the perfect way to end it is with a good bout of cleansing and nourishment. According to her, the soap is of green color and smells like a regular anti-bacterial soap (the fresh-scented kind). She added that the soap doesn’t seem to melt quickly as she used it in conjunction with a wash cloth. Skin Whitening or any glowing effect isn’t noticed on the 6th day mark yet. Her Verdict Available in Lazada BUY HERE She genuinely loves the AYO Tamarind Whitening Soap but wishes that it costs less so she can maintain it. Tomato Soap This AYO Tomato Whitening Soap variant really had my interest but Filipinow is only a one-man team. I can only try a maximum of 2 whitening soaps in a week (face and body). Tomato variant is what I chose for my brother because it contains Lycopene which not only whitens the skin, but also provides SPF. My brother Miki has an active lifestyle and he’ll benefit from the SPF more than I will. His Experience Miki is the typical straight guy (the one who doesn’t mess around with skin care stuff lol). He said that in comparison with the usual soaps that he uses (anti-bacterial), the AYO Tomato Whitening Soap made his skin feel VERY clean after a shower. The scent of the Tomato variant is reminiscent of Irish Spring and Lever soaps. It was kind of different as I expected it to smell fruity. The color is faint pink which isn’t “tomato-ey” but that’s trivial. He didn’t see any skin whitening effects as he doesn’t pay a lot of attention but I noticed that his skin got lighter. His Verdict Available in Lazada BUY HERE He doesn’t have any but I do. I think that the AYO Tomato Whitening Soap has great potential in skin whitening. I’ve written about Tomato’s powers HERE if you want to know more. Radish Soap I recommended the Radish Whitening Soap variant to my Ninang (Godmother) Dolly because her skin is already fair. Radish contains flavonoids that are really good for reversing signs of aging (More info HERE). It’s the perfect AYO Premium Whitening Soap for my Ninang Dolly as she’s turning 67. Her Experience Just like Jana and Miki, she really liked how the AYO Whitening Soap provides a well-cleansed feeling. She didn’t notice any difference in terms of her skin tone but she loves how it’s not drying to the skin. The scent according to her is neutral and her favorite thing about the Radish variant is that it lathers very well. Her Verdict Available in Lazada BUY HERE She loved it! She has nothing bad to say about it. It’s time for my AYO Premium Whitening Soap experience and I’ll get more in-depth about the variants that I’ve tried. Papaya Soap To be quite honest, I was really scared to try it on my face. The first whiff was very strong (in a good way) and my skin is sensitive. I try to avoid fragrant products on my face as much as I can because my face tends to break-out from them. The reason why I took a leap of faith is because I want to provide an honest review. I also already know how to deal with acne (Know the most effective pimple remedies HERE) and I felt like I had my bullets prepared. My Experience The scent is literally delicious. The Papaya Whitening Soap variant smells of a fruity bubblegum. Lather is rich and makes my face squeaky clean after one wash. My Celeteque Toner doesn’t pick up much dirt after using this soap which means my face was thoroughly cleansed. I’m not sure if the scent lingers on my face because I have no way on finding out unless I randomly ask someone to smell my face (which is kind of disturbing). It gave my face a certain glow which is quite similar to my favorite soap which is the Belo Whitening Intensive Care (Read HERE for more info). The thing I l don’t like about it is it’s quite drying but there’s nothing that a good moisturizer cannot fix. My Verdict Available in Lazada BUY HERE If you’ve been reading my Blog, you’ll know that Papaya is my favorite ingredient when it comes to skin whitening. (Know why HERE) I think that the AYO Papaya Whitening Soap is promising but the price tag is quite steep compared to other papaya whitening soaps. I’ve experienced a brightening effect in 6 days so it does give bang for the buck and acne didn’t emerge from my face. I recommend to use it only on the face if you’re on a budget but if you can spend more, lather away. Pineapple Soap The AYO Pineapple Whitening Soap blew me away! I’m like the “Soap-Whisperer” and my hunch is almost always right when it comes to picking out soaps. I’m so glad that I’ve kept the pineapple variant for myself. The color and feel reminds me of L’Occitane’s vegetable soap. My Experience For something that seems highly acidic, it didn’t make my skin very dry. Smell is like the best scent for a soap that I’ve ever smelled. I am biased towards citrusy scents and this one makes my skin smell fresh for hours after a shower. Normally, I use a loofah when I shower but for an in-depth review, I used the Pineapple Whitening Soap as a standalone product. As for exfoliation and whitening effect, I think that it’s too soon to tell. I also didn’t use a lotion for 6 days (talk about torture) in order to know if this variant will turn my skin “moisture-depleted”. Surprisingly, I didn’t experience itching even without a lotion which I’d normally get after a shower with Kojic Acid soaps. My Verdict Available in Lazada BUY HERE Pineapple is my favorite variant hence I took a selfie with it. Final Words I think that the price of 250 PHP per AYO Premium Whitening Soap is justifiable. AYO Soaps are REAL soaps which are cold processed by masterful artisans. Cold-processed soaps take 3-4 weeks before they can be used and the amount + type of oils that can be added in order to benefit one’s skin is within the artisan’s discretion. Read more about it HERE. The oils that are used in making 1 AYO Whitening Soap are Sunflower Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, and Castor Oil. With the oils alone, you have your money back. Most soaps in the market are cheaper because the ingredients are synthetic. They are made in big batches in order to meet the consumers’ demands which can potentially hurt their quality. AlphaGlow and Alpha Arbutin are generous bonuses which effectively aid in skin whitening. I love the chic packaging and how all the ingredients are listed on the box. I’m highly impressed that for a new company, their line caters to different skin needs. Definitely well-researched and curated! Ingredients Saponated Premium Oils of Palm, Coconut, and Castor Bean, Fruit Extract, Alpha Arbutin, Alpha Hydroxy Acids (Lactic Acid, Citric Acid), d-Alpha-Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Licorice Extract, Papain Enzyme, Grapeseed Oil, Sunflower Oil, Sodium Lactate, Coco Betaine, Titanium Dioxide, Color, Fragrance Available in Lazada BUY HERE My Recommendations Whitening = Papaya/Pineapple Anti-Aging/Moisturizing = Radish/Tamarind SPF (Day-time) and Antioxidants = Tomato Deep-cleansing and Exfoliation = All variants If you are looking for natural whitening soaps in the Philippines, you should definitely check AYO Premium Whitening Soap out.
