When summer starts to approach, we all want to look our best when the revealing clothing comes to the forefront of our wardrobes. But getting in shape is a long process, and the changes you need to make should be life-long commitments. But if you have an event that you want to get ready for, and you want to lose some weight fast – here’s how you can do it.
Work with Weights
It’s no secret that, if you want to lose weight, you should do more exercise. It’s the best way to burn calories, and being active is a basic requirement for a healthy lifestyle. But while cardio might last longer and have you feeling like you are burning more, working with weights will continue to burn calories even after you are done exercising. If you aren’t an expert, make sure you are working with a trainer to guide you so you don’t hurt yourself. Fitness doesn’t make your body beach ready alone.
Starving yourself will give you absolutely no effects. If your body isn’t getting food, it holds on to the fat reserves it has, because it thinks you’re going through a famine. The secret to healthy eating is eating small meals regularly. This way, your body knows it’s getting enough food, and won’t have a problem spending energy. If you want a boost, you can replace some meals with weight loss supplements, like breakfast shakes, but keep in mind that this isn’t a long-term solution. Generally, you want to be consuming about 2000 kcal per day, but if you want to lose weight, you can go as low as 1500, but no lower than that, or you won’t have the energy to get through the day. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fiber and probiotics to help digestion.
In order to properly process the food we eat and have a healthy digestive system, our body needs water. A lot of it. This doesn’t mean forcing yourself to drink gallons upon gallons of water, but you should be taking a sip every few minutes. If needed, set an alarm or get an app that reminds you to drink. Carry a bottle of water around you everywhere you go, and if you think it tastes boring, put a few fresh slices of citrus in the bottle.
Slowing down when eating means that you will feel when your body signals you that you’re full and that you don’t need any more food. If you’re just mindlessly getting through your meals, you will overeat, getting more calories than your body is asking for at that moment. Listen to your body and follow its directions.
It’s important to remember that the weight that gets lost quickly comes back quickly, so while eating less and exercising more will give you fast results, it’s not a sustainable lifestyle. Thinking long-term, you want to adopt healthy habits that will control your weight and keep you looking and feeling great. Before making any drastic changes to your diet, talk to a nutritionist to find a healthy way to reach your goal.
