I got a lot of goodies from Althea Korea because of my birthday. Part of the perks of being an Althea Angel is getting a 100 USD voucher on your birth month and I didn’t waste any single cent of it. This Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control Review isn’t sponsored in any way but was made possible by Althea Korea’s generosity.
Let me preface this by saying that I am not a fan of BB cushions because I feel that they are unhygienic. However, keep reading if this made me reconsider my thoughts.
Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control Review by Amanda of Filipinow
From the get-go, like any other Laneige product, the packaging is something that’s very appealing.
I love the holographic sheen of the box and compact.
Scent delivered is a bit reminiscent of antibacterial baby wipes which I like because I’m into clean fragrances.
The cushion is best used within 12 months once opened which is quite generous for something liquid based.
Only factors I didn’t like from my first impression are that the compact’s casing quality which is a bit flimsy and quite bulky which won’t work if you like using small purses.
“The skin tends to look dull in one hour after applying makeup due to excessive sebum and sweat.
The refreshing BB cushion keeps the skin looking smooth, clean, and matte all day long by controlling excessive sebum while maintaining moisture.”
Now let’s head on to the most important part of this Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control Review…
Frankly, I look stupid in the photo on the right. I didn’t expect that the Beige shade would be like 2 shades lighter than my skin tone lol.
Consistency of the Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control is very watery and may not work well along with oily skin.
I have dry skin even made drier due to the fact that I’m taking isotretinoin and even if it promises to deliver a matte effect, my skin still turned dewy especially within the first hour post the BB Cushion application.
It won’t control sweat or oil so don’t bank on the claims.
Added to that, it also clung onto the dry patches I have on the sides of my nose and boldly deposited on the pores of my nose which made them very obvious and made me look like I have whiteheads.
Suffice to say, it gets a bad score from me in terms of blendability and coverage.
However, I love how it looks like from afar because it gives my skin a healthy illusion.
Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control Review Final Words
To be honest, I didn’t really expect much from it as I noticed that Korean companies usually don’t offer good foundations and BB creams because most Korean women already have clear and flawless skin… making them only need that extra moisture to give them that famous K-Beauty glow.
If you have clear skin with fine pores, this one is a great daily face product for you.
However, if you’re like me with problematic skin, I don’t recommend it.
I love how it comes with SPF 50 though so I might continue using it on less special occasions. I have to at the very least, get every single penny of my voucher out of it.
It also contains niacinamide (one of my favorite skin whitening ingredients), pine extract, and chenopodium quinoa seed extract which are all very good for the skin.
It’s a BB Cream after all and not a foundation so let’s focus on its benefits for one’s skin.
Retails at 1,500 PHP for 15g and a 15g refill and can only be best utilized by people who already have flawless skin, I’d say… a rip-offish deal.
Coverage and Blendability: 2/5
Even if I didn’t like this product, there are still a lot of amazing ones that you can find in Althea Korea’s website. They ship worldwide and the products arrive in less than a week!
